Mariam Ridley Arrives In Karachi
Famous British journalist Mariam Ridley has reached Karachi to attend the Dr Aafia Siddqui’s Pride of Performance award ceremony.
Talking to media at Karachi Airport, Mariam, who was the first one to report about Dr Aafia’s detention in Afghanistan, deplored that the Pakistan government has not played effective role to get Dr Aafia’s release.
She also noted that the US court gave prejudiced verdict in Dr Aafia’s case.
The award ceremony would be held tomorrow under the aegis of Free Aafia Campaign.
‘Dr Aafia Pride of Performance Award’ would be conferred upon Ridley, nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan and all those NGOs, human rights activists and media representatives who have been making efforts to get Dr Aafia released.
Earlier, on her arrival, Ridley was accorded warm welcome t Karachi airport.
