LAHORE: Lahore High Court has rejected the petition for moving International court of justice in Aafia Siddiqui case.

Barrister Iqbal Jaffri had filed the petition before the LHC raising two points. He took the plea that US courts would never release Dr Aafia Siddqui as they would protect the US government interests praying Dr Aafia Siddiqui case therefore, be withdrawn from US courts and filed in international court of justice and he would provide services free of any fee.

The second point was raised that government of Pakistan be restrained from making payment of Rs 150 million fee to US lawyers as there was apprehension that this amount would be embezzled in the form of kickbacks.

LHC earlier had reserved its judgment and verdict was rendered on Wednesday. LHC while dismissing the petition remarked Islamabad High Court had already decided about this case therefore, it should be filed in the form of appeal.
